How Contractors Can Improve Their Future Contract Opportunities
Contractors are always looking for the best opportunities that match their skill sets.
There are ways that they can increase their odds further.
Our Contract Team Lead Lee Barham has some insights for contractors on how they can access the best Cloud & IT Infrastructure contract opportunities on the market:
“When looking for their next role, contractors will typically work with selected specialist recruitment agencies who have placed them in their previous role, through word of mouth, speaking to other contractors via their extended network as well as having direct relationships with a previous line manager with whom they have worked before.
Here at InfraView we work really closely with contractors on our books, keeping them fully briefed for the latest contract roles we’re working on and ensuring that the profiles fully match the job description. We also ask them to update their experience on their CVs where applicable to make them more attractive to TA team and line managers.
We will as standard practice go through every specification in great detail, ensuring the contractor has the required skill set, understands the role and is confident that if shortlisted for interview they have the very best chance securing the role.
A good contractor will always be looking to increase their network, whether that’s via LinkedIn or any social media platform, as well as improving their skill sets through online courses of physically on-site at training centres during their down time. By doing this, they give themselves better access to higher paid and longer contract length opportunities.”
