Improve Your Personal Profile to Enhance Future Opportunities
As recruiters we spend a lot of our time on LinkedIn.
It’s where we find a large quantity of top quality Cloud & IT Infrastructure talent, and engage with candidates and clients.
Candidates can use this to their advantage, giving them a heads up on the latest opportunities on the market.
Owen Harris has some advice for candidates on why they should keep their LinkedIn profiles up to date:
“There are numerous benefits to keeping your LinkedIn and online profiles updated even when you’re not actively looking for a new cloud job role.
Here at InfraView we use a honed recruitment process perfected over years of experimentation.
This includes searching LinkedIn for individuals who may be a great fit for opportunities we have at our clients.
On LinkedIn we search key words to find the right people. If they have these key words in their profile, they are listed in our search.
For example if you’re someone who doesn’t have many key words on your profile, then you might be missing out on top opportunities we would love to talk to you about. The role might be a great fit for your experience and skill set, but because those keywords are missing in your profile you don’t appear in our search.
My advice for Cloud & IT infrastructure professionals, even if you’re not actively looking, is to make sure your profile and CV are up to date. You never know what opportunity is just around the corner.
Another way of helping your cloud jobs search is to actively engage with content on LinkedIn.
Get yourself out there, make yourself known.
Like, comment and share different posts from businesses which you find insightful or that you enjoy. You’ll start to appear more readily on people’s news feeds, making businesses and specialist recruiters like us at InfraView aware of your profile.”
