5 tips to nail video interviews
It’s fair to say it’s been an unusual few days and weeks.
Businesses across the UK and globally are assessing how to minimise destruction in the face of Covid-19.
The InfraView team has been hard at work speaking to every single one of our clients to gauge the general feeling of what is happening and how we can help to improve their experience. Based on the stature of our clients it’s no surprise to learn they too are doing everything in their power to operate as ‘normally’ as possible.
No one wants us all to stop.
No one wants to waste months of progress on projects.
They want to keep the wheels turning, and so are turning to more creative methods to ensure life at their company continues as normal.
You might be in the recruitment process now, or don’t want to let Covid-19 get in the way of your career goals. If so, this guide is for you.
We’ve used our extensive knowledge of our niche, as well as emerging trends in technology, to put together some tips and tricks to help you make the most of any employment opportunity which may come your way.
1. Make sure you are presentable
Dress up for the occasion as if you were going into their office. Look on their company website to get an indication of dress code, or lean on your recruitment consultant for all the low down on how to dress for that specific company.
2. Make your bed!
You want the visible space behind you to be clean, neat and tidy.
This won’t only limit distractions and so allow them to fully focus on you, but will also make a much better first impression of your character and values.
3. Hello… Can you hear me?
Make sure to check your audio output and input settings on your speakers and microphone. Will they be able to hear you? Will you be able to hear them?
We’re bound to have audio and visual problems for the next few weeks at least, but that doesn’t mean we can’t try our best to mitigate the negative effects.
4. Remember you’re on camera
Try to treat this like you were in the room with the interviewer. That way you’ll always have your attention on engaging that person, as well reducing the chance of getting distracted by what’s around you.
5. Be enthusiastic
Be assertive and talk with genuine passion about your niche. Show how much you love what you do. Do that, and you’re setting yourself up for success.
We hope you enjoy, and if you’d like to chat about your career and how we can offer our help in continuing to enjoy the journey, give us a call on 020 3617 1040 or email info@infraview.co.uk and one of our team will pick up your message.
